How to Use Timing Cable

13 years 11 months ago #5302 by suhor
Hi,
I want to install 2 A1200P card in a PC. First card contains 12 FXS and the second card contains 12 FXO. In future I want to add another A1200P card with 12 FXO. All lines will be used for voice only. Do I have to use the timing cable?

Thank you

I have an A1200P with 4 FXS ports (incoming) only used for some incoming calls. We also have a D210P with 2 PRI T-1's connected which is our main trunkage for both incoming and outgoing calls.
This is in a single Asterisk box: 1.6.2.13 with the spandsp, and the built in app_fax.

I have fax reception working fairly well but incoming fax reception fails sometimes and every once and a while a page gets cut short.

It all looks like it may be timing related or some other quality issue.

The A1200P is not involved in fax reception or sending at all for now.

I am getting buffer recynce issues I think are only related to the A1200P tough, at least 1 a minute.

Does this sync cable have any place in this situation?

Are there any other recommendations?
