strange "Error 5" loading openvox 1200 driver

11 years 2 months ago #8567 by gusblog
Hi, i have an very strange behavior. will try to explain.
we have 1 x A1200P card version 3.0
with 6 FXO modules
4 FXO rev 1.2
2 FXO rev 1.1
Positions = T1 (rev1.2);T2 (rev1.2);T3 (rev1.2);T4 (rev1.2);T5 (rev1.1);T6 (rev1.2); => Working T5 and T6
the point is only the FXO rev 1.1 are working. only 2 leds apears ON at back in the card. after the driver load.
in the proceess to check fxo modules we start to change some positions :
Positions = T1 (rev1.2);T2 (rev1.2);T3 (rev1.2);T4 (rev1.1);T5 (rev1.2);T6 (rev1.2); => the card give error -5 => any mopule work
Positions = T1 (rev1.1);T2 (rev1.1); then empty; => the card OK => T1 and T2 work
Positions = T1 (rev1.1);T2 (rev1.2);T3 (rev1.1);=> the card give error -5 => any mopule work
Positions = T1 (rev1.1);T2 (rev1.2);T3 (rev1.1);T4 (rev1.2);=> the card give error -5 => any mopule work
the error when not start is :

we tried to change the PCI slot or reset the PC bios,
neither work.
we are using lastest openvox_dahdi-linux-complete-2.6.0+2.6.0.tar.gz +kernel 2.6.18-92.1.22.el5+centos 5
so only work when rev 1.1 are toghether.

Why does this happend ?
apreciate can help to check if the moduoles rev 1.2 are definitly burned or not.

regards
Gus

OK, I am glad that the card and the modules is working fine now with OpenVox latest driver.
About the firmware updating, i am afraid it is not possible online. Only send it back for rebuilding firmware can make it happen. If it is working fine with 1.2, no need to upgrade it.
Anything else you need, contact me immediately.

Hi
I have tested the same scene here, and everything is fine in above situation.
If the card and modules in your side are still not working with the latest driver from OpenVox website, I am afraid there should be some hardware faulty issues.
Pls send us S/N for RMA procedure.
