B100P Cannot Receive or Dial Out

13 years 1 month ago #6757 by pyrozz
Hi,
I've got a B100P in a HP Proliant server (P4 processor / 512mb RAM) (Don't have exact specs to hand). Just got the ISDN2e line installed (in the UK) and B100p card was working fine. Then about 1 hour after the engineers left it stopped working. Today the engineers came back and tested the line - no faults. We eventually worked out that the card needed to be in PTP mode rather than PTMP mode. Changed and it worked for about 15 minutes.

Now again it doesn't work.

I've tried both zaphfc/dahdi & mISDN to avail. Under zaphfc I was getting a message similiar to "no d channel available! using 3 anyway". Interestingly if you call the number you get an obtainable tone the first time, and engaged the 2nd (if you're quick).

Suggestions?

Hi,
What kind of driver you are using now? Make sure "pri show spans" is UP on the asterisk console(>CLI) if you use dahdi.
Could you post your debug info here when you make a phone call?

Hi,
I'm using the mISDN driver now. And after leaving it overnight, it's started working (for incoming calls at least). I never changed any settings or anything so I wonder if it was a telcom problem... Here are the logs from when it wasn't working (there was nothing in regards to incoming calls).

Hi,
Can not find any useful info from your attachment . But I would like to give you a suggestion, make sure "misdn show stacks" is UP before you make outbound calls. If you are not sure if the ISDN line works or not, directly insert it into a ISDN phone to have a test. Meanwhile, you need to check the ISDN line if stable from your service provider.

If you still can not solve it, please contact me by below info.

We seem to be all good. Looks like the line became faulty and was fixed again the following morning by the telecom provider. Interestingly, I did the "misdn show stacks" when the line wouldn't make incoming or outgoing calls and it showed it as being up, so looks like it was definitely a line fault. I didn't have an ISDN telephone to test it with so couldn't be 100% sure at the time.
But anyway, thanks for your help! Much appreciated.
