B100P - "Empty configuration -- no spans"

12 years 5 months ago #7433 by webon
Hi,Using a fresh install of CentOS 6, I have followed the B100P User manual with Dahdi installing and configuring the following:
  • Centos 6
  • Libpri 1.4.12
  • Dahdi 2.3.0.1+2.3.0 with Openvox patch
  • Asterisk 1.8
Everything installed fine, with no errors, but when loading drivers:

# service dahdi stop
Unloading DAHDI hardware modules: done
# modprobe dahdi
# modprobe vzaphfc
# dahdi_genconf -vvvvvvvvvvvvv
Empty configuration -- no spans
Empty configuration -- no spans
# dahdi_cfg -vvvvvvvvv

DAHDI Tools Version - 2.3.0
DAHDI Version: 2.3.0.1
Echo Canceller(s):
Configuration

Channel map:
0 channels to configure.

Hardware is detected as follows:

# lspci | grep ISDN
02:0a.0 Network controller: Cologne Chip Designs GmbH ISDN network controller [HFC-PCI] (rev 02)
# dahdi_hardware
driver should be 'zaphfc' but is actually 'hfcpci'
pci:0000:02:0a.0 zaphfc+ 1397:2bd0 HFC-S ISDN BRI card

Firstly, when load the driver, please try to use " modprobe zaphfc " instead of "modprobe vzaphfc".
If not work, you can try the new patch below, the way to patch is shown in the file.

Still any problems, please send SSH to my Email: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it., I will check for you.
BTW, this driver has included all modules for OpenVox card, including B100P/E/M:
http://downloads.openvox.cn/pub/drivers/dahdi-linux-complete/releases/1.3.3/openvox_dahdi-linux-complete-2.5.0.1+2.5.0.1.tar.gz

No way. I have tried to install this configuration:
Centos 6 + libpri 1.4.12 + dahdi 2.5.0.1+2.5.0.1 + attached patch + asterisk 1.8
with no success :(

After installation, i did:
service dahdi stop
modprobe dahdi
modprobe zaphfc

And then,
dahdi_genconf
dahdi_cfg -vvvvvvvvvvvv
which gives me: "0 channels to configure"

Any ideas?

I also started to install a B100P, but on SuSE 11.4
Using the files mentioned in
http://wiki.openvox.cn/index.php/OpenVox_B100P_User_Manual_for_dahdi
did not work for me, some errors occured during compile.

So I used
libpri-1.4.12 and libpri-devel-1.4.12 from SuSEs package installation
dahdi-linux-complete-2.5.0.2+2.5.0.2 from source (asterisk.org)
asterisk-1.8.7.1 from source (asterisk.org)
and applied the new patch version "2.4.0 or above.zip"
At least, this allowed me to successfully generate asterisk and dahdi.
# dahdi_cfg -vvvvvvvvvvvv
DAHDI Tools Version - 2.5.0.2

DAHDI Version: 2.5.0.2
Echo Canceller(s): HWEC, MG2
Configuration
======================

SPAN 1: CCS/ AMI Build-out: 0 db (CSU)/0-133 feet (DSX-1)

Channel map:

Channel 01: Clear channel (Default) (Echo Canceler: mg2) (Slaves: 01)
Channel 02: Clear channel (Default) (Echo Canceler: mg2) (Slaves: 02)
Channel 03: Hardware assisted D-channel (Default) (Echo Canceler: none) (Slaves: 03)

3 channels to configure.

Setting echocan for channel 1 to mg2
Setting echocan for channel 2 to mg2
Setting echocan for channel 3 to none

#lspci | grep ISDN
0b:05.0 Network controller: Cologne Chip Designs GmbH ISDN network controller [HFC-PCI] (rev 02)

#dahdi_hardware
pci:0000:0b:05.0 zaphfc+ 1397:2bd0 HFC-S ISDN BRI card

I still have to complete and test the setup, but may be, this gives some more insight into the problem with Cent OS.

The messages shown above means the driver is working, so what is your problem?
