FD40 with Cisco Router

11 years 3 days ago #8759 by gm3gm
Hi There,

We are using Openvox FD40 with Cisco Voice router having a PRI circuit.

The connection is as follows

PSTN
PRI--FD40
VG1 (se 0/0/0:15)
|______VG2 (se 0/0/0:15)

Question 1 : Last time, when i shut the serial interface in VG1 to which PRI connected, automatic fail-over did not happened to the secondary VG
Please can anyone guide me how to verify the FD40 in my case above

Question 2 : Recently, VG1 went down due to Power supply issue . so asked the local contact to move the PRI to the VG2 manually.
In this case if the VG2 gets rebooted will the PRI come up or do we need any thing to be done manually? .
Please note the VG2 has PRI connected from FD40 only and not straight from MDF

Question 3 : What does the Switch S1 in the FD40 for?. Should that be in ON position or OFF..
Please can you explain the steps to reset the setup and troubleshooting tips

Thanks very much in advance !!

Hi Gopinath,Here is pic show how FD40 deployed:

As the pic shown, pls confirm the connections like this:
PSTN
PRI----(IN)_FD40_(OUT2 & USB)
VG1 (se 0/0/0:15) (Main Server)
|
(OUT1)
|______VG2 (se 0/0/0:15) (Redundant Server)

the switch 'S1' must be ON, then you can control the device by asterisk on Main server.
About how the failover box works, refer this link:
http://downloads.openvox.cn/pub/drivers/failover/You%20must%20read%20this%20bofore%20downloading%20drivers.txt
when asterisk on Main server is up, IN
OUT2 connected; asterisk stopped, IN--OUT1 connected.
Asterisk up again, IN--OUT2 will be connected again.
