GSM gateway and http?

Does the http setting on any of the GSM gateways mean that a user can send FROM a device or software TO the gsm gateway?
eg my software has an option to specify a http enabled gms gateway. Can the OpenVox GSM gateway recieve a message/sms from this software on my network and send it out to the recipient specified by the software?

You want to use http to sms function. Right? Run the url like below, then you can send sms using http interface.
URL:
http://your gateway IP/sendsms?username=xxx&password=xxx&phonenumber=xxx&message=xxx&[port=xxx&][report=xxx&][timeout=xxx]
If you software can run this url and the server which the software installed can communicate with your gateway, then you can send sms.
