please take a attention to check the zapata.conf when you run the command: genzaptelconf -sdvM under /usr/src/zaptel/xpp/util, you maybe face a problem when you use that command. if you can see the ztcfg --- result but can not start asterisk due to lack of zaptel-channels.conf, please add this command: echo '#include zapata-channels.conf' >>/etc/asterisk/zapata.conf, it will add zapata.conf in your zapata.conf. after then, your asterisk will be start with zap channels in asterisk console.
