4 Ports are RJ45 not RJ11

15 years 10 months ago #1292 by jim.thornton
Hello,

I purchased the A400P PCI card from ebay. I have 4 modules (2 FXS/2 FXO). I live in Canada and have a PSTN line that I plan on connecting to my PBX. I have a fax machine that I plan on connecting as well.

This hardware mentioned requires the RJ11 plug on the end of the cord but the A400P seems to accept the RJ45 (8-pin).

I plugged in an RJ11 cord to see if it fits and it will lock, however the plug wobbles a little.

First: Can I plug in an RJ11 cord even though this is an RJ45 port?
Second: Will the fact that the plug wobbles slightly affect the quality?
Third: Is there an adapter that I can get to convert the RJ11 to RJ45 for a firm fit?

1. you can plug rj11 to rj45 directly.
2. the wobbles would not affect the quality.
3. We do not have such adapter now, But I think it is not necessory?
