I'm having an issue with caller ID. I am running Asterisk 1.4.21.2 and Zaptel 1.4.12.1 (PBX in A Flash distro). I loaded the driver as instructed on your site and tried the suggestion of modprobe opvxa1200 cidbeforering=1 and cidbuflen=10. I also modified zapata_channels.conf file (line callerid=dtmf) there is no line in this file for calleridpolarity. Still after two rings, my caller id machine reports caller id as unknown. If I switch to using two a400p cards, the caller id is announced imediately after the first ring. I'll continue to dig further, but any guidence would greatly be appreciated !!

i do not know what do you follow? how do you set that in your a400P, it should be same as opvxa1200 does.
you should set like this:
cidsignalling=dtmf
cidstart=polarity
