Hi debianuser, this happen because misdn is not loading at boot, when you type misnd-init start you loading the module...
Go to folder where you untar misdn.tar.gz , cd in and type make config...

That's it, now you can type /etc/init.d/misdn stop or start or restart and module loading at startup without you type anything.
